Sculptor Galaxy (NGC 253)

One of the brightest and most intricate galaxies in the sky, easily seen in binoculars. An edge-on starburst spiral galaxy in the Sculptor Group — the nearest galaxy group to the Local Group — forming stars at a prodigious rate.
