Pulsars Were Almost Named "Little Green Men"

When Jocelyn Bell Burnell first detected the eerily regular pulses of a pulsar, she jokingly labelled the signal "LGM-1" — Little Green Men. The discovery earned a Nobel Prize… awarded to her supervisor, not her.
