M82 — The Cigar Galaxy

The Cigar Galaxy is one of the most intensely star-forming (starburst) galaxies in the sky, driven by gravitational interaction with its neighbour M81. Its core is creating stars at a rate 10 times higher than the entire Milky Way combined.
