Hubble Space Telescope's Blurry Eye

When Hubble launched in 1990, its primary mirror was ground to the wrong shape — off by just 2.2 micrometres. The images were blurry. NASA sent astronauts to fit corrective "glasses" in 1993 — turning disaster into triumph.
